The project focused on creating a modern medical portal aimed at young professionals seeking private consultations with specialists across various fields. The goal was to design a user-friendly platform offering convenient and fast solutions for booking medical appointments. A key challenge was to ensure the platform provided a modern approach to healthcare, distinguishing it from competitors while meeting user expectations for intuitive design, functionality, and ease of navigation.
Problem Genesis
The challenge for this project was to design a modern healthcare platform targeted at young professionals seeking private medical appointments across various specializations. Key issues identified included:
- Usability across devices: Ensuring a seamless experience on both desktop and mobile devices.
- Ease of access: Simplifying the process of appointment booking and patient management for a time-conscious audience.
- Handling user errors: Providing intuitive error-handling mechanisms for log-in, registration, and scheduling.
- Design consistency: Maintaining a coherent experience across different devices and screen sizes.
Desk Research
To ensure the solution would be both competitive and user-friendly, I conducted a thorough desk research phase, focusing on existing healthcare platforms: ZnanyLekarz, Luxmed, and Medicover.
- ZnanyLekarz: Excellent in simplifying specialist search by location and specialization. User reviews and doctor ratings created a transparent, trustworthy system. However, its interface lacked a modern and visually appealing design, particularly on mobile.
- Luxmed: Clear focus on personalized healthcare with a comprehensive dashboard. The downside was a cluttered interface which could overwhelm users.
- Medicover: Solid mobile experience with smooth navigation and clean design. Integration of services like booking lab tests and virtual consultations added value, though its desktop version felt less polished.
Solution
Based on insights from desk research, the solution for the HealthCare platform focused on delivering a seamless, modern, and efficient user experience tailored to young professionals. Key aspects included:
Streamlining the user experience — login and registration processes were simplified, ensuring users could access core functions with minimal effort. Consistency across devices was prioritized, with the same visual experience and functionality on both desktop and mobile. Clear, non-intrusive error handling guided users in correcting their actions without frustration.
Visual simplicity was a core principle. Drawing inspiration from clean, minimalist interfaces, the platform used a calming color scheme to establish trust and reduce overwhelm. The scheduling system borrowed from ZnanyLekarz’s best practices, with doctor ratings and reviews to build transparency and trust.
